Dr Suraya Amir Husin is a Senior Principal Assistant Director and Head of Infection Control Unit at Medical Development Division, Ministry of Health, Malaysia. She completed her undergraduate study in 1997 from M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore and accomplished the Master of Hospital Administration in 2011 from the University of the Philippines, Manila.

She is the country focal point for Antimicrobial Resistance as well as Infection Prevention and Control Programme. She chairs the Patient Safety Technical Working Group on Clean Care Safer Care at the national level. She is the secretary for the One Health National Antimicrobial Resistance Committee and National Wound Care Committee. Her interests are in infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship and wound care. She has contributed inputs and shared ideas and experiences in various platforms at the national, regional and international level, e.g, ASEAN, CHINA-ASEAN, APEC, WPRO and WHO Geneva.
